Madrid CFF

Madrid CFF improved their content production and manage growing data capacity with QNAP solutions.

  • Background

The Madrid Club de Fútbol Femenino (Madrid CFF) is a unique club, replete with values and recognized by all football fans due to its grassroots project, and which also completes in the Primera División - the highest level of women’s football in Spain. The club was founded in the year 2010 with the sole aim of providing all girls and women in Madrid a quality, plural, open and inclusive area to be able to play football. With the aim of empowering women via sport and the promotion of the values of equality and equity in society, the first team acts as a benchmark for the true Madrid CFF elite project: its youth players.

  • Challenge

Madrid CFF is an independent female football club that does not have the infrastructure or budget of a men’s team, so must rely on technology and digitization to continue growing sustainably and to provide services to all its season-ticket holders, fans, and youth players. In addition, the creation of content and sharing it on social media has helped the team to grow and to be able to take this project all over the world.

The Marketing and Communication Department needed to store all the content in a unified manner, and with instant access. To add a final problem to the challenge, the team’s photographers travel all over Spain, and they needed a solution for easy and fast remote uploading of content.

Finding a solution that was economically viable, that didn’t take up much space and completed all the functions necessary was not an easy task.

Solution

Thanks to the TS-h973AX NAS, Madrid CFF got centralized storage for each creator. Photographers/videographers can sync their device content, and all data is safely stored on the NAS with 30TB of WD hard drives installed. The AI-driven photo management application QuMagie allows them to easily sort a large number of photos by players when they require uploading to social media, for example as soon as a goal is scored during a game.

The QSW-1208-8C switch and the QNA-T310G1T 10GbE networks over Thunderbolt™ 3 adapter have multiplied the network connection speed for video content handling in real-time. Super-fast SSD pools with Kingston U.2 NVMe SSDs have allowed the editing team to access all content faster and work in real-time during a soccer match.

QuWAN, QNAP’s SD-WAN solution, allow IT staff to easily configure VPNs for all employee devices to be securely connected when working outside of the office.

"At the same time, in the digital transformation area, QNAP provides us with a virtualization solution to carry out checks and development for the various integrations and solutions that we implement as CRM or internal developments. For the digitization team, being able to host servers and test developments on Virtualization Station, made the work easier and more dynamic, without the need of having to pay for a cloud service."

All photos on the OneDrive are synced to the NAS by Hybrid Backup Sync, allowed the editing team to access all content at office.

Results

QNAP’s one-stop solution made Madrid CFF highly satisfied with excellent performance of the NAS, which allows staff to remotely access resources and surveillance cameras. And of course, the IT department has access to all the business network resources thanks to the SD-WAN network.

QNAP offers us an integrated solution for multiple issues within a small structure, and without a defined location. Integration of QNAP’s NAS and applications provides us with great advantages when it comes to working with multiple service providers.
